Catering is theater. From a Prop shop bursting at the seams with Chinese dragon heads and Mummers headdresses to custom designed and built-by-us chafing dishes, our intent is to provide our clients a setting in which the food looks as good as it tastes. Our approach to styling is guided by a refined sense that prefers a rich simplicity and natural materials to glitter and mirrored trays. We are constantly on the lookout for the right basket or bowl, a new tiered-wire pedestal or an old flower container with just the right patina. On a recent trip to Thailand, which you can read about in the Steves Notes section, Steve spotted the colorful Thai umbrellas that now adorn our Pan-Asian noodle station.
From the beginning we have understood that catering is a team sport. Our success is a result of each member of the team playing their part, being valued for their role and cooperating with one another. Nowhere is this more important than in the areas of Food and Styling. Like love and marriage, we cant have one without the other. This ranges from hors doeuvres presentation and plate styling to elaborate buffets and food stations. Planning what the food will look like when presented to your guest is integral to what we do and the service we provide.
The rich history of Frog Commissary catering is filled with the ideas and innovations that have become the legacy of all those who have, and continue to work at Frog.
