To find edible fresh flowers, visit the produce section of Whole Foods, farmer’s markets, or Fair Food Farmstand and Iovine Brothers in the Reading Terminal Market. Of course, you can always grow your own—just remember not to spray them with any kind of chemicals. Never pick flowers not your own to eat and make sure that they are actually edible varieties.
Dried varieties can be found in spice shops like the Spice Corner in the Italian Market. Penn Herb Co in Northern Liberties has an outstanding variety, including chamomile, lemon verbena, violets, rose and many more. Peace Valley Lavender Farm in Bucks County sells multiple varieties of its homegrown culinary lavenders. As a last resort, there’s always that store of all stores, Amazon.
