This spring and summer, celebrate the evolution of gaming, with The Franklin Institute’s newest exhibition, Game Masters—housed in the Nicholas and Athena Karabots Pavilion and the Mandell Center through September 3. Showcasing the work of over 30 innovative game designers, this landmark exhibit is an interactive journey inside the most popular video games of all time—from the trailblazing arcade era through today’s web and console games. Achieve high score on more than 100 playable games and learn how the most beloved characters—from Asteroids to Angry Birds—came to life, plus follow the remarkable transformations that video games have undergone over time through the 100 objects and original artworks featured within the exhibit. The exhibit provides a unique opportunity to play in spectacular multiplayer immersive experiences as well as on classic arcade games from the 1970s and ’80s while discovering the stories of the designers who have pushed the limits of gaming beyond our wildest imaginations.
Of course, a visit to The Franklin Institute isn’t complete without a tour through the 100,000 square feet of exhibit space featuring displays ranging from the wonders of electricity and the human brain to a full-sized fighter jet and the massive Baldwin Locomotive.
