Media Advisory: Frog Commissary Carrot Cake Turns 35, Joins GPTMC’s “With Love” Campaign

Announcement coincides with the launch of Franklin Foodworks cafeteria at The Franklin Institute

WHAT: A tasting event/press preview to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Frog Commissary carrot cake and the launch of Franklin Foodworks, viagra sale a cafeteria-style eatery operated by Frog Commissary at The Franklin Institute

Long-time Frog Commissary employees, including the head baker who created the recipe, will be on-hand for the unveiling of a limited-edition version of the signature dessert. Called the”With Love” Carrot Cupcake and available beginning Nov. 22, the cupcake is part of the iconic consumer advertising campaign developed by the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Campaign (GPTMC)

WHERE: Franklin Foodworks at The Franklin Institute (TFI), 222 N. 20th Street, Philadelphia

WHEN: Monday, Nov. 22 at 3pm

The media is also invited to join us early to sample the new Franklin Foodworks menu from 2-3pm. The press event at 3pm will last approx. 15 minutes

ABOUT: Poses’ Commissary restaurant served its first carrot cake 35 years ago. Since then, it has become a Philadelphia legend. Moist layers of spicy cake are spiked with raisins and pecans, and a cream cheese frosting is dotted with toasted coconut. For years after the restaurant closed, the cake was only available by special request through Frog Commissary Catering until this year. When Frog Commissary took over daily food service at TFI, a cupcake version was added to the mix of rotating desserts. Based on demand, it will now be available every day at both the Franklin Foodworks and Franklin Foodworks Express. The “With Love” branded version will be offered through Memorial Day 2011
