Sweet Talk: Pie Eyed

It’s officially pie time, but unless you’ve perfected your crust or have a signature filling that would make Paul Hollywood drool, there’s no reason to labor over a slab of dough. This Reading Terminal staple may be best known for its whimsical donut flavors, but don’t sleep on the luxuriant apple, pecan and shoofly pies.

A relative newcomer to the local food scene, this Northeast-based bakery specializes in crispy hand pies but also proffers wonderful classics with Philly names like Boyz 2 Men (pecan) and Ron Hextal (sweet potato/banana).

Flying Monkey Bakery
