Special exhibits and fun for the entire family await this holiday season at The Franklin Institute. Travel back in time to ancient China for Terracotta Warriors of the First Emperor and witness 2000-year-old artifacts on loan from Xi’an, China. Five years in the making, this extraordinary exhibition features 10 life-size clay statues and more than 160 artifacts from the burial site of China’s First Emperor. This marks the first time in more than 30 years the warriors will be in Philadelphia, on display in the Nicholas and Athena Karabots Pavilion and the Mandell Center through March 4, 2018. The Franklin Institute curated an exhibit unprecedented in its focus on the science and technology used to build, bury, and excavate the Terracotta Army, one that tells the fascinating story behind the story, culture, craft, and science of one of the greatest archeological discoveries in human history.
And of course, a visit to The Franklin Institute isn’t complete without a tour through the 100,000 square feet of exhibit space featuring displays ranging from the wonders of electricity and the human brain to a full-sized fighter jet and the massive Baldwin Locomotive.
