The American Helicopter Museum opened in 1996, is housed in a former helicopter plant hangar. The museum holds a collection of 35 helicopters, photos, “hands on” exhibits and an extensive library.

The Grange Estate
Capacity: basically an outdoor facility – there is no sitting or eating inside

A unique complex of mansion, gardens, outbuildings and woodland reflecting an 18th to 19th century gentleman’s country estate. Property first developed in 1682 by Henry Lewish , a Welsh Quaker. First section of the mansion built in 1700 (present dining room); library and stair hall added in 1730. Owned by John Ross at the time of the American Revolution and renamed the Grange after General Lafayette’s home in France. Estate was host to Lafayette, Knox, Mifflin and George Washington, who referred to it in his dairy. 10 acres surrounded by a hardwood forest. An acre of formal garden surrounded by boxwood contains a rose garden, a knot garden and an herb garden with fifty different herbs. Three historic trees, over 200 years old, front the garden – a cucumber magnolia, Japanese pagoda and a gingko. Entire house and veranda available for parties.
